Greg Abate in New Mexico: 2004

I first saw and heard Greg Abate's driving bebop jazz on a July night in 2004 at El Farol in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Our friend, Pete Amal (touring drummer with Junior Johnson), had invited us to come hear him play with his old friend from Rhode Island. Greg knocked us out, so we returned the next night to hear the group play in Bernalillo, NM, at the Range Restaurant's bar. I was so overwhelmed at the sound of Greg's jazz that I couldn't focus on the best way to capture the experience with my camera. I resolved to do better the next time I got a chance.
